Since its inception over 20 years ago, The Migrants Story has grown into a prestigious and inspiring annual event, celebrating the perseverance, achievements, and contributions of migrants to the vibrant community of Western Australia.

Held in a bilingual format, this much-anticipated evening provides a unique platform for successful migrants to share their personal journeys — stories of courage, hard work, and triumph that continue to inspire others, particularly those seeking business, professional, and investment opportunities in WA.

Over the years, The Migrants Story has welcomed a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Mrs. Mimi Wong, Chairwoman of Golden Group; Mr. Eugene Lim, CFO of SKS Group; and Ms. Vivien Yap, one of Australia's leading real estate agents.

Since establishing the Centre in 2011, Dr. Kan has not only delivered outstanding dental and prosthodontic treatments but has also contributed to the advancement of dental education, helping position Perth as a leader in advanced dental care.

Creative, caring, and fun, Bryan is the driving force behind BHO Interiors. Originally from Kuching, Malaysia, he immigrated to Australia 23 years ago — where he studied, graduated, and built a life rooted in design and creativity.

Dr Janice Kan
Founder & Principle Prosthodontist of Centre for Prosthodontics

Dr Janice Kan is a Past President and Fellow of the Academy of Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontists and currently serves in leadership for the International Team for Implantology (ITI), alongside global fellowships with respected professional organisations including ITI, International College of Dentists (ICD), the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI) and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is also the Founder of the Women in Dentistry Society WA, championing representation and support for the dental community.

In 2011, she founded a small private practice in Perth—now known as Centre for Prosthodontics—which has grown into the largest prosthodontic group practice in Australia, with multiple locations and supported by a team of esteemed prosthodontists.

As a migrant, mother, wife in a multicultural family, and healthcare leader, she remains committed to inspiring others, especially women and migrants, proving that dreams can come true.
